Thousands of Valuation Maps, boxes of documents and financial records, photographs, blue prints and miscellaneous documents of all kinds. All this and more constitutes the Erie Lackawanna Historical Society, Inc. archive collection. All of this material must be cataloged and properly stored so it is accessible to ELHS members, historians, researchers, authors and those amateurs interested in rail history. An archive collection is only as useful as it is accessible.
For that reason we hope you will help support our ongoing efforts to make the ELHS Archives as accessible as possible. That accessibility comes at a cost, the cost of an Archivist, proper storage cabinets, computer and scanning equipment and more. You can help by making a fully tax deductible contribution to the ELHS Archive fund. One hundred percent of your generous gift will be applied towards helping us maintain the ELHS Archives to the highest standard possible.
Your gift will also help fund future projects such as to digitally scan important, irreplaceable documents, maps, etc., that are in our archive for purposes of preservation and ultimately make material available via the web, CD ROM and DVD. Technology comes at a price and by contributing to the ELHS Archive Fund you help us to attain these and other goals sooner.
