O Scale Open Hopper 81590 Model by ELHS member Gene Deimling. Gene writes: " The model started out as an O scale Intermountain USRA twin hopper kit. I reworked the details adding new 0.015" wire grab irons, stirrups made from brass strips and San Juan Car Company AB brake system, AAR Double Truss trucks with Grabowski Proto48 steel wheels and AAR Type-E couplers. I added rivet impressed strips to the inside for detail. The paint is Accupaint Black with CDS dry transfers. The lettering had to be tailored since there isn't a correct USRA hopper set available. Weathering was done with washes of Kuras liquid weathering and chalks."

O Scale Nichols, NY Store Model by ELHS member Gene Deimling. Gene writes: "his 1/4" scale model was built from drawings and photos of a store in Nichols, New York along the Lackawanna mainline. The original drawings and photos were done by Chuck Yungkurth. The material and construction article was published in the NG&SL Gazette. The model was built from styrene with individual strips used to form the lapped siding. The windows were made from glass microscope slide covers."
