Mark Kerlick was here on Saturday helping out. There were 21 of those big green file boxes that were stashed in storage last July in a futile attempt to get the U-Haul unloaded. Mark helped move them to the archive from storage, separated the paperwork into EL, PC, PRR, and Conrail.
We know that this doesn’t look like much, but it is a big accomplishment with sorting. He took some boxes back to his home for the PC. There are 2 boxes of EL that contain more employee records and service agreements with customers that are re-boxed.
These 14 are early CR and 2 Pennsy that will be going to those groups in the next few weeks. So, this is the LAST of the heavy steel boxes. In the afternoon, we picked up the remainder of a donated collection. A big piece of that is a very nice DL&W crossing signal dated to the mid 1930’s. It was taken out of service over 25 years ago then stored in a barn. It obviously needs to be restored, and we are looking for someone to tackle this project soon so it can be displayed.
